Here's my LO for sketch #8. Check out the sketch and what the other designers did here. My LO is about this funny pic of Lotte kissing Mats. The stripes of papers are from a Cosmo Cricket "Honey Pie" paper pad and the background is Basic Grey. Love the BG background papers. Used ribbon as a frame for the photo and buttons to embellish. It's simple, but a beautiful picture like that, doesn't need more....

So, we went to Den Haag today to reniew my passport and this is how our trip back looked like. Need I say more??
I love those little hands...
I love those little hands...
I saw this in an art gallery window in den Haag. Isn't this the coolest piece of art you've ever seen? I totally fell for this guy. He's made out of junk. Just like all the little things we have flowting around our house, and I keep tossing away. Do you recognize any of it? His hat is made of a bottle lid. I think I'll start keeping some junk and have the boys create art. Totally!

This is my LO for dare #44. The challenge is to scrap your favorite book. Feel free to participate even if you are not dutch. We welcome LOs about favorite books in all countries, LOL. This LO is about our little reader, Mats. Since he started reading over a year ago, he has gotten so good at it, reading practicly everything and everywhere. At night time, he reads and reads, and I sometimes have to shake him out of his reading trance, to make him go to sleep. His favorite book has been Pluk van de Petteflet van Annie M.G. Schmidt. Be sure to check out what the other designers made...
I've found this new photo challenge blog, take a pic, and todays challenge was DOORS. I've always loved to photograph doors, so it wasn't hard to find a few pics. These are from our vacation in France in may this year.
This was such a lovely background, and Lotte was so cute in her white dress, but she wasn't cooperating at all and wouldn't stand still for two seconds. Sigh, all the pics I could have taken...
Three doors that caught my attention in Grimaud
...and the last pic. I love the cute little hearts on this door, and plan to use this picture for something romantic someday....

So, I finally managed to put this months 12/12 pictures together. My goal has been to make different designs on all my 12/12 LOs, and so far I have managed. It's all squares this time. And a hybrid. I put together the LO with pictures manually and filled in the numbers and the text in PSE after I photographed it. Again it was a stay-at-home day, just me and the kids. The boys found 2 frogs in the garden, and made them a pond with rocks and plants in it. This kept them busy for hours. I love the picture of Lotte dressed up in a knight costume! She's so cute....(the quality of this LO is not great, due to my broken camera, the little compact just isn't the same....)

...one of the things that goes under the category "things I can´t live without" broke on me yesterday evening. Can you guess what? My canon rebel xt camera!!!! Just a few days ago, I was taking the greatest pics, and today I get the message - get a new one... all because of a tiny CF card connection problem (broken pin). Needless to say, I´m feeling blue today.

We went for a walk in the woods today. The kids needed to steam off some energy, and that's a good way to do it. I brought my EOS camera with my 50mm lens, to experiment and get better at using it. Since it's not a zoom lens, it takes some getting used to. And I'm getting quite good at using only the manual functions. Yeah, for digital cameras!! I'm loving the pictures I take with this lens. And the kids were quite cooperative today as well, so I had a hard time picking just a few favorite photos, there were to many good ones. If you have any questions about the camera or the lens, don't hesitate to ask.
They are actually ALL looking at me. Wow!
Mommy, look what I found....
Just some ordinary leaves that caught my attention
Needs no words....
Lotte is getting tired, or just doesn't want to walk. A few seconds later, she was running along again...
...and walking just like Grosspappa. I burned the edges on this photo to frame the motiv...
...and doing the wood dance (or something like that..)
In the bathtub at bed time, Lotte is giving her brothers kisses and hugs. Here's a kiss for big brother Mats, this pic cracks me up
And a kiss for little sis. SO CUTE!
Look at how she is looking at her brother (Jonas). She loves him SO much.
Jonas is clean and almost ready for bed. I love the blues in this photo, blue eyes, blue towel. I know he looks sad, but he's really just thoughtful. Jonas is always thinking about things.

I got started on two more favorite summer memory LOs during the crop with Danielle and Kirs last Saturday. It was really nice meeting up with two of my fellow designers from the MLS blog. Danielle is the brain behind the hole concept, owner of the shop and the one who asked me to join. Do you recognize your little frame, Danielle? Ha, ha, I found use for it already. Now at home I could finish the LOs, with the finishing touches, like journaling and sewing.
On the Sunglasses LO, I used a crocheted piece that my grandmother made me (supposedly for a scarf, but I prefer it like this - I mean I LOVE it like this...). The frame is cut with Danielles Big shot machine (I don't own any die cut machines) and colored with oil pastels. Love the effect it gives. The title is hand cut felt.
And here's the sunhat and galabeia LO. This little cute hat is from the time when Till lived in Egypt (when he was 3 to 10 years old), and it used to be his. It is SO cute and all three kids have worn it and loved it. The galabeia (maroccan long shirt) Till bought on one of his trips to Marocco when Mats was little, and has been used by all kids as well. The boys now have bigger ones to use on the beach after swimming. They all love their galabeias and look so cute in them. I used strips of painted DIY tape as frame and cut out little round felt frames to highlight two photos. The little brown stripe with the holes at the bottom, is first painted with acrylic paint, then colored with oil pastels. It looks like wood, but that is hard to see on the pic. I'm so happy I found this box of Oil pastels (similar to crayons, only with more pigment), and I use them all the time.
....I won the Cosmo Cricket challenge at scrappeMania with my Art journal (my last post). Three sets of CC paper pads are comming my way. Yeah, for me....LOL. SO COOL to actually win something. I was allready a fan of this challenging blog before, but now I'm an even bigger fan, LOL. TAKK jenter!

I've had a go at a ScrappeMania challenge again, and this time we were to make an altered product where we had to use flowers. I made an art journal with pieces of old newspapers and acrylic paint ++. My flowers are actually the back (what you normally toss away) of some Queens & Co. felt flowers that I painted. So fun to do, and I'm very happy with the outcome. Finally I have a place to put all my inspiration pieces and artistic ideas. Love it! Hope you do to...

Yesterday was wednesday and time for Dutch Dares. My first! This time the theme was Fashion, and since I'm not that into fashion, I did my own twist on this one and made my own fashion magazine...ha, ha. This was really fun to do, all digital and of course inspired by Elle magazine.

So, some happy news today. The norwegian scrapbooking magazine Vi scrapper will publish 3 of my LO's in their august number, AND they want to use a close up photo of one of my LO's on the FRONT PAGE! Just had to tell.......
This is my first go at a norwegian challenge. I love the new blog scrappeMania that started out in april this year, and finally I found time to participate. This was such a cool challenge, where we had 20 titles from last weeks music top 20 (norwegian) to choose from. I chose an old norwegian classic summer hit "En solskinssdag" (which means "a sunny day") and the picture I used is SO telling the story of this song. Had fun with the LO, and used left over bubble plastic (with mini bubbles) for the paint effect, red mini tape for the title and diy tape for the frame/journaling.

I've had a go at this months scrapjack today. This time it's candimandi who has been jacked. She's one of my favorite sisters on SIStv and I love the LO that has been jacked. Here's my LO about Lotte and her new favorite person, Martine (my cousine). In the pics Martine is beeing hand to mouth fed with strawberries. I wish Martine would live closer (she lives in Norway), she's SO good with the kids... I enjoyed using a kind of paper (basic grey) I don't normally use (I don't like too busy backgrounds..), but I love how this turned out. Hope you like....
