Just another layout...

Hi, not much news around here, except that were having new windows put in and I actually made another layout..... Very simpel; cardstock, a piece of white linen, some spray paint (maya mist), some Sausan designs stamps, alphabet stickers and some buttons. Stamps used: Sausan designs borders, shabby stiches and school (the journaling piece). I sprayed with mesh as mask, to achieve the squares on the fabric. The pictures are of Lotte on her first day to "peuterspeelzal" after the summer holiday, proudly showing off her new backpack.

Hi, I am struggling here....

Scrapbooking is slow at the moment. I feel like doing other things instead, like reading (a lot, like all the time...), working out, photographing, spending time with the kids, husband and friends.

Having said that, there are a couple of cool things happening, like a layout getting published in Celine Navarros magazine, EntreARTistes and a layout in the November issue of Creating Keepsakes. These are things to appreciate, when times are slow. I'm also having a new article coming up on "Kreative sider" at Papirgleder in a weeks time. And photographic-wise, I just LOVE this photoshoot and it makes me realize that I love what I do.....

I did make this layout about beautiful Lory some days ago, using Sausan Design papers and stamps. I used the mini Funky Funky collection for the little squares and Bloom, Dragonfly and Magic seed papers as layered background, also from the Funky Funky collection. The titel is stamped with the new Miss Peasley clear alpha set, both big and small letters.

Yup! That's about it for now. I am off to pick up my little princess........Have a good day!

Minibook about my trip to Naples and PACS Italy 09

Inspired by some scraps and two fun journaling papers from Collage Press (Margot & B&C DD j cards), I was motivated to make this mini about my trip to PACS Italy this year. I just used some of the cards from the papers, some felt and fabric scraps, quite a few buttons and my photos and voila!
On the first page I made a pocket to keep memorabilias, like tickets, program etc.
Pics of some of the projects from the classes I participated in:
One of my favorite teachers and people, Lory....

New article at Papirgleder......

I have a new article out on Papirgleders "Kreative sider", where I show the steps to alter the front and back of a book or a journal with gesso, paint, scraps and "garbage". For my non-english readers the article is in Norwegian, but the pictures pretty much show everything. I made this book for a challenge at ScrappeMania way back in July 2008 and won the challenge (one of my first wins EVER! which was kind of cool:))

I'm a bit bummed today, cause I was planning on joining the Zumba lesson this morning only to arrive to a full class - no access for me - bummer! I was SO dissapointed that I turned around and headed home. So, that means Body Jam tonight instead (which is fun as well, I was just really looking forward to the Zumba class.....) Have a good week!

All good things come to an end and I just wanted to say.....

which means as much as "thank you" and is my goodbye to all the followers, contributors, designers and sponsors of ScrappeMania. We have all decided that because of busy schedules, time issues, motivation issues, family issues and so on, the best thing to do right now is to stop "the game" while it is still "on top" and move on. This means that we are having our very last OLW challenge on the scrappeMania blog today and the word is "TAKK" or "thank you". Of course we are not saying goodbye without a big shout and a good chance to win one of the many prizes we still have left. So no reason to skip our last challenge, please join in on our very last venture here.
And at last but not least; a HUGE thank you to all the Maniagirls!!! It was an honor to play with you every month and seeing all the gorgeous stuff you created for every challenge. Just check out all the gorgeous, cool, awesome, fantastic layouts the Maniagirls made for this last challenge. I can only say WOW!!!! It has been a big thing for me to be part of such a talented team and I will miss the (almost) daily chatting on the forum. THANK YOU for letting me be a part of it!!!!! I will miss you!!!!!! See you in cyberworld......

A back to school layout.....

...for "wij dus". Wij dus is a fun dutch challenge blog and right now the challenge is to scrap about "back to school". This is actually my first wij dus layout ever. Have been to busy with ScrappeMania and other tasks lately. I made it about Jonas, who started "groep 3" this summer. That´s the same as 1. grade in the rest of the world, and therefor a big thing - at least for mom and dad. He on the other hand, is very relaxed and does his tasks as if he never did anything else. When I ask him what he did at school, he just replies "ah, we just learned some stuff". According to his teachers, he is doing very well:). Anyway, it was nice to write down some words about this big milestone. I made this background in my gesso-and-paint-class last weekend to show the students the progress. So happy I could use my demo for an actual layout... It might be hard to see, but the background is made of layers of fabric, vintage paper, gesso, paint, more fabric, more paper, more paint and glimmermist.

I´m off to watch TV, or read a book. Haven´t decided yet. Have a great week!

An interesting aricle at Papirgleders "Kreative sider"

Wow, this week has just flown by. Can´t believe a week has passed since I held my classes in Norway....Well, it´s been a while since I made this layout for this cool article at Papirgleders "Kreative sider", but the article is now finally public and very interesting. It´s amazing how many different designs you can get out of this sketch. For all of you non Norwegians, the article is in Norwegian, but you don´t need to know the language to see the pictures/layouts:). In my last post I showed pictures from my class, and if you look closely, you might spot that some of the participants also used this sketch for their layout design.

For my layout I used all Sausandesigns products. Papers from the Funky Funky collection (dragonfly, bloom, stripey and radiant) and stamps from the Funky flower- and the Shabby stiches set (journaling stripes), all to be seen here.

I fixed the flowers with glue dots and bent the edges to create dimension. I love the white against the colorful background.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs and kisses!

Oh, so talented....

...and I am talking about all the great ladies that participated in my classes at Papirgleder this weekend. I was blown away by all the great layouts they made and of course I just HAD to show some of them here. There are layouts that I cannot show since they were not finished in class, but I can assure you, they were equally good. So here we go....

...from my first class about design principles where the students made a layout based on a sketch (they had 3 to choose from) and of course using the principles. Here is Lene and Gro...

Janne and Tine...

two of the participants, Bente and Isabell and Linda (the owner) in the mittle and little me in the second pic...

Here some pics from the crepe paper class. The stuff they made was truly gorgeous! Here is Bente and Isabell again...

And my last class was messy but oh, so fun! We played around with gesso and paint, glue, fabric, collage and you can see how different the results were, but all really good! Bente and Lene...

Gro....

here´s Jannhilds gorgeous background and the finished layout.

And the last pic is of Jill (pastill), who used to be on the Papirgleder design team. She joined in after class together with Anne Marit who is on the team still. Rreally nice finally meeting them in person. Det var veldig hyggelig å møte dere jenter!!!!

Now, that´s quite a picture overload. I just couldn´t leave anyone out. It was all so good. But now it´s getting late and I´m off to bed. Have a good night/day....:)
